I pulled some ideas from my archives that I thought would be neat for my little New Years soiree. Just click each photo. Enjoy!
(Sorry I could not line them up better. Does anyone know a trick to that with Blogger?)

The Holidays Are OVER!
Well, almost. We still have New Years Eve and here at the Chapin House we plan to party! So over the next few days I will be showing you a few ideas for a great party, and how to also look like the sex goddess you are.
I put together a couple of lists on Popgloss, one is of my favorite black dresses ( the perfect staple) Also, not everyone likes to wear dresses so I also put together a list of metallic jeans (show some flare dammit it's new years!)

Have You Seen This Before?

"Installation of a pack of 99 life-sized wolves barreling in a continuous stream towards—and into—a constructed glass wall."
This has been around the internet for as long as I can remember....just goes to show you how f-ed up some artists really are. I would NEVER want to trade dreams with this guy, I have a hard enough time trying to sleep through mine.

Beer and Saurkraut Fudge Cake
My BBF sent me this link yesterday for this recipe. I think it sounds disgusting and intriguing all at the same time and I'm sure some of you will really get a kick out of it! Might be just the right recipe for cakes in a jar too.
update- It just occurred to me that you are supposed to eat cabbage on New Years day for wealth or luck or good health or something like that so what could be better than sauerkraut cake?

Woodwind Splash

I always thought this would be a neat and probably easy thing to make. Its so dramatic. It's just pieces of veneer strips. We happen to sell bamboo ones for a few bucks each.

Jars of Cake

I just spotted this really cool idea over at Angry Chicken. I have been trying to find some neat little gifts for my neighbors and I think jars of cake just might be it!

Digg It!

Today on Popgloss I posted a list of 24 of the most unusual bras that I could find. This is the one that didn't make the cut on account of it grossness. My friend says that it would be perfect for Hanukkah , but I'm not so sure....
I also made a list of faux taxidermy on Cribcandy that I'm rather proud of as well.
Check it out and be sure to dig them here so that I can get a few dollars for my efforts.

Pacman Bag!
This is one of those simple ideas that makes you say "Why didn't I think of that?"
All thats missing is a hooka

I really like this day bed display at Zara Home. Its a fantastic way to add life to a dull corner. I bet most of this stuff could be found around your house. An unused mattress, those bolts of fabric that you've been storing in your closet, that silly little chair that has no real home in your house, and all of those throw pillows that you can't resist can now have a home. And is it just me or is this not the perfect setting for a wall of mix matched frames?

Bah Humbug

I am really drawn to the idea of using Nordic decor as my holiday decorations. I love that Ice Hotel look with glistening ice and glass with pelts laying around. I would really like to be able to redo my home for the whole winter season with rustic but somehow modern pieces like any of the items from Bleu Nature.
This year the spirit of Christmas has not fallen on the Chapin household. I have a few decorations up and presents have been purchased for all the kiddies in my life but beyond that I just have not been "feeling it" except for the fact that this sweet little stocking caught my eye. I think it would look fantastic hanging on a mantel next to some birch candle holders. I think I might hit the fabric store today to see if I can find some coyote pelt-ish fur....
You've Been Framed

I would love to have a wall of different frames and art like this. At one time I was working on a collection of frames that I found at thrift stores, but a move across country saw to the end of that. I think this would be an awesome way to display your child's art too! Do any of you have such a wall?

Felt Birds

These felt birds are so cute and would look fantastic on a Christmas tree or just hanging somewhere by themselves. I think they could easily be made using felt and creating a template. The wings just slide through the body kind of the same way as those old school wood airplanes.

Keep Dreaming
I just love this picture! I found it snooping thru Google Images. I think its from a couples trip to Paris. It totally makes me want to make little wooden sailboats using cool fabrics. And for those of you who know me- this isn't the first time....
