Spiced Bottles

These bottles are so great! I guess you would have to waste the contents of the bottle to make it so that it still has its cap attached to it.... or you could use a cork or one of those bottle caps that your granny used to use. I see them at thrift stores all the time.

Stuffed Animals How-To

(I think this could be done using any extra material or possibly some shrunken sweaters.)
"These petite stuffed animals—a Fair Isle lamb, a cable-knit chicken, and an argyle pig—are so cuddly and simple to make, you'll want a menagerie. The toys, which range in height from 5 to 8 inches, are each assembled from a few basic felt pieces and plumped up with batting. Appendages, such as floppy ears or wings, are easily added during sewing. Wrap up the woolly creatures to give to your favorite tots." Click here for instructions and templates. MSL

Not Your Average Trash to Treasure

In case you have not noticed yet, I am a furniture junkie. I love modern designs. Clean lines with organic materials are my favorites. I also have a thing for turning trash into beautiful one of a kind pieces. Giving new life to items that have been discarded. In my ideal home I envision the 2 styles living together in harmony.
Last week I was snooping around Craigslist just for the fun of it. I was looking at the free stuff to see what people were desperate to get rid of and I came across a sofa that looked exactly like the first one picture below and I immediately thought of the white one that is picture right after it. With the help of an upholstery shop or even by taking an evening class for just a few bucks you could totally custom reupholstered some junkie furniture in a more non-traditional way to have your own one of a kind style. How very modern...

Personalized Coasters

Apply your own graphics to cork or recycled rubber coasters with stencils, silkscreen, rubber stamps, or pasted paper, or have coasters printed in bulk commercially. Express a point of view while protecting your furniture. I bought some cork coasters from Ikea for about $2.00 once.
